Why NUMMI Preferences Survey is a Sham

When I found out about the NUMMI preferences survey organized by the City, I immediately posted a discussion here and put the link to the survey. But upon closer review, I think this Survey is not going to yield reliable results. Here is why I think so:
  1. I can take the survey as many times as I want. Is it possible to stuff the survey responses according to the outcome the survey organizers want? Absolutely. Do I know if they are doing that? I have no idea. 
  2. The survey does not capture who is participating. It trusts the person taking to survey to choose one from the following options: (a) Fremont Resident, (b) Fremont Business Operator, (c) Employee (within Fremont), (d) Other (please specify). 
  3. What is the meaning of "Employee (within Fremont)"? Whose employee? Fremont City employee or any employee of any company in Fremont?
  4. What is "Other" intended for? What is the point of allowing non-Fremont residents to take this survey. 
If you are not a resident or a business owner in Fremont, your survey response should not count, if this Survey is really about Fremont having a say about NUMMI Area preferences.

I urge the City to disclose what methods they are using to ensure the following:
  1. Duplicate survey entries are eliminated
  2. Ensure that the responses are coming from Fremonters
I hope you join me in demanding the City do this in a credible and transparent way. What do you think?
