MLB officials spoke with Fremont City Manager Fred Diaz this week. They told him that no city had been eliminated and wanted to know more about land aquisition as well as on-site and off-site infrstructure improvements.
Diaz expects the city to meet with MLB officials within the next two weeks.

Is it just me, or is there a city missing from this headline? Has San Jose been eliminated from consideration, leaving only Fremont or Oakland? Yet it also says that "no city has been eliminated". I am confused.
A related issue; wouldn't it be nice to think that we, the taxpaying, voting residents of Fremont, could count on getting a true, fair and accurate report on what transpires when our employee meets with MLB? Yeah, and if a frog could fly, it wouldn't bump it's butt when it jumps.
The problem is that MLB deals with the City, and the City no longer represents our interests. Quite the opposite, in fact.
