Fremont Citizens Network

The members of the Fremont Citizens Network would like to extend our sincere condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of Bob Wasserman for their loss. Mr. Wasserman served Fremont for many years as Police Chief, Council Member, and Mayor, and in those roles worked hard to make Fremont a safe and friendly community. He will be missed.

I was surprised that the Fremont Politics blog didn't find the time to mention Mr. Wasserman's passing.

It's odd that a venue which carries  "Fremont Politics" as its masthead has chosen to completely ignore (so far) the passing of one of our city's most significant political figureheads while simultaneously allocating considerable coverage to the far-less-relevant (to Fremontians ) issue of Ms. Hayashi's shoplifting debacle.

Can't help but wonder if this isn't a bit of a tip of the hand for what will eventually be revealed as just another politically lopsided medium.

Time will tell.

Curious . . . .

I wrote a post on the Fremont Politics blog here in early January-

- I did so, very shortly before I made my post on the FCN blog of January 7 (above).

Admittedly, I was pretty critical of the venue's author for not having yet taken the time to acknowledge the passing of Mr. Wasserman.  Seemed to me that if you are wanting to establish yourself as a credible source of discussion on the topic of "Fremont politics" - it would be hard to ignore this issue.

WIthin a couple of days, not one but two posts appeared, albeit, belatedly.

At this writing, my original post appears to have been lost since it has never made the light of day.

Dont know if this is the same "Fremont Politics" author or not . . . . but, the politics of this individual are very clear here -

The follow-up in post #4. is a fair representation.  AB506 was nothing short of a pre-emptive attempt to reduce the likelihood of one of the very few remaining tools municipalities have at their disposal which can effectively eliminate a large swath of their future pension obligation.   As such, Bobbie W. and the other AB506 supporters were anxious to see the prospect of municipal BK wiped off the books.

Here's the original TCB thread -

And, here's some worthwhile stuff that neither Bobbie W. nor his buddy Fremont Politics want you to consider -
