Fremont considers moving City Hall near future WS BART

Council members are eyeing the area near the future Warm Springs BART station, between interstates 680 and 880, as a potential site for a new City Hall, cultural arts center, civic plaza and parking structure.

Interesting to see that both Anu Natarajan and Bill Harrison, both likely mayoral candidates in the next election, are against the idea. Dutra and Wasserman (the later gone after the next election) are in favor, and Chan is on the fence.
Who, with a regional transportation system like BART, wants or needs to get to or from Fremont's City Hall? And where are they coming up with the funds to build a new city hall, and is that the best use of the money we have or are they counting on more redevelopment bonds & spending?

And, why is it that, with so much in the way of opportunity to challenge and question, Artz and Argus expend what resource they *do* have covering the far less trivial stuff ? Why not use the time spent regurgitating the daily police log and ask your council one REALLY GOOD question ?
Op Ed may not be appropriate for a beat reporter, but, can't you, at the very least, ask the important question(s), and secure a response ?
And, if resources are strapped, doesn't coverage/scrutiny of the political decision making process trump just about everything else ?
