Fremont Citizens Network President, Kathy McDonald Moves On

Fremont. CA (Feb. 26, 2010) - The Steering Committee of the Fremont Citizens Network announced that Kathy McDonald resigned her post as President on Feb. 10th in order to spend more time researching what can be done to redirect our city to a more citizen friendly course.

Her great organization skills, knowledge and ability to quickly see through to solutions and get things done will be sorely missed. Incoming FCN President, Jim Hunt commented, “Kathy leaves some very big shoes to fill.  I'm counting on our new VP Johannes Chan and the intelligent, and savvy people who lead this organization to carry on where Kathy left off."

Mr. Hunt has assured all the members of Fremont Citizens Network, and the citizens of Fremont that FCN remains as committed as ever to carry on their mission with the same passion and energy that Ms. McDonald infused into the organization.

Statement from Kathy McDonald

Dear FCN Family,

I want to thank all of you for a fast-paced year of learning, friendship and growth. Last Thursday, I completed my term as President of FCN. I was pleased to be able to entrust the future of this organization to another founding member, Jim Hunt. Jim will be assisted by our new VP, Johannes Chan. Continuity and administrative organization will be provided by our long-time Secretary, Veronica Pang, and the dedicated group of Steering Committee Members. I leave my post with complete confidence that FCN will continue to grow in influence and provide Fremont residents with a place to share their concerns, opinions and insights.

I am honored to have served FCN as we developed the structure for welcoming contrary opinions. Though some have obviously felt themselves a persecuted minority, their voices were given equal visibility. No Fremont resident was ever silenced. I hope that this encourages all to come to the site to share their views, defend their positions, and alter or strengthen their resolve based on an open exchange of information. I look forward to meeting you on the discussion board.

Best regards,

Kathy
