Anu and Harrisson - A difference without a distinction -

Letter to the Editor in todays' Argus helps to cast Anu as a dissenting voice on issues such as Sabercat, Centerville and Central Park South.

These are certainly some very good points made by a concerned Fremont citizen.

Along with these observations, let's also ask -

Where was Anu or Bill's dissention when we (she and Bob W) took off for far-flung "sister city" visits on the taxpayer dollar ?  And, if this was indeed a  beneficial trip, what was the tangible byproduct of this time spent ?

And, where was Anu or Bill's scrutiny when we announced a "discovery" of significantly greater local tax revenue, shortly after arguing a need for a utility tax with the electorate ?  This "surprise" should not have occurred . . . . it discredits city management.  At the very least, it is deserving of some well thought out questions . .. and answers - - - which probably exist - - -  but got, instead . . .. . .. . ..  silence.

And, where did Anu or Bill express shock or surprise when local business owners stated that they would not agree to an MLB stadium built in their midst at the Pacific Commons location due to (the rather obvious) parking and traffic issues it would create for their existing tenants ? Wouldn't these have been amongst the earliest topics of casual discussion with major stake holders ???  Why would you wait months and spend many many hours on proposals and plans and discussion while ignoring the greater priorities and obvious concerns  ?   Wouldn't you have gotten these kinds of issues on the table, early on ?

And, while it's nice to see Anu dissenting about the CURRENT Centerville plans . . . . the major question as far as the incumbants' record goes has far less to do with what we are CURRENTLY THINKING about doing, and far more importantly - is -  HOW WE LET OURSELVES GET THIS FAR DOWN THE ROAD WITH NOTHING TO SHOW FOR OUR EFFORTS ?

When our professed talents and resulting scrutiny are applied to the minutae, but topics of significantly greater consequence go unchallenged . . . . what is the value of those talents ?

Talking about Bill Harrison....I just got this via email. It said it is from "Fremont Police Association" and it shows a letter from their Officer Greg Pipp, President and Sergeant Daniel, Vice President.

Anyone else got this?

I think it was bbox who recently commented on the Tri-City Beat that he received a "COPS Voter Guide" in the mail and it 'endorsed' Harrison. However, as was noted in the article below, this is simply a paid mailer that is about "COPS" only because they decided to print "COPS" on it.

I'm just speculating that perhaps this is a response to that mailer. I don't think the Fremont Police Association has made any endorsements in this campaign. In 2008, they had some large signs out for Wasserman/Wieckowski/Tahmasbi as the firefighters do this time.
Wow! This was a real mailer. It came in the mail today. I wasn't sure.
