  • How will the city deal with rowdy fans 1/2 mile from an elementary school?
  • How will Fremont’s public schools afford additional children from the Ballpark Village, with current school district budget cuts and overcrowding?
  • Who will benfit from this stadium? (The owner of the Oakland A’s & big developers)

A lot of news came out this morning. But...

Show up and make a difference!

The Rally tonight is still ON! The stadium proposal appears to be canceled for now (see below). But the rally will go on as planned! Rain or Shine!

They can very well continue to stay in Oakland for all I know. But I heard that most teams market value doubles or triples in value, so a $400 million team could be sold for a lot more after a new stadium is built and the new city could be stuck with a bill. In 2006, the A’s and the Coliseum Authority converted three option years (2008-10) into a hard lease, adding 2011-13 as option years.

I will try to be there but I have another appointment. Can anyone answer what is wrong with the current Oakland Stadium. I mean why is it a foregone conclusion that the Athletics need to have a new stadium?

NO STADIUM IN FREMONT!!!

To all concerned Fremont citizens!

This our time to shine and let our voices be heard!

We have already seen (by virtue of the A's cancelling community meetings in other WS venues), that our oppositon is making a difference!

I implore all of you and your friends, neighbors, and family to come out in unity on Tuesday, February 24! Get the word out to our residents outside WS! It is important that the council understands that the impact will not just affect WS residents, but ALL Fremont residents!!

Because this is a smaller community, we have so much more impact into what is right for our community. Having been raised in a larger city for most of my life, I can honestly say that your voice gets lost with TPTB. This is one of the major reasons I chose to live here, because I wanted my voice to be heard! Not to mention, the small town atmosphere was appealing (OK, remember I am comparing my experiences with living in Los Angeles or San Jose).

Hope to see a big crowd on the 24th!!
