Event Description

Fremont city council members will take the final vote on the proposed Patterson Ranch development next Tuesday, October 26. This is the last opportunity for the public to have a say before the council votes.

This proposal contains 500 housing units (nearly double the number of units allowed in the Fremont General Plan, 266) near Coyote Hills.

Many issues remain unresolved including:

  • Previous long-term use of pesticides has resulted in toxic soils; may contaminate drinking water and endanger health
  • Large public safety hazard due to high risk of liquefaction in an earthquake
  • Potential flooding due to sea level rise; additional costs and liability risk to taxpayers
  • No solution for students generated by the development
The Pattersons have already developed 5,000 houses in north Fremont and sold the Tupelo lot (15.5 acres) for $63 million, where the Villa d"Este development is being built. See what the current developer is saying about the school where students will attend: www.TinyURL.com/Villa-dEste-ad. In fact, this is untrue because Ardenwood and Forest Park schools are overcrowded, and students are continuing to be overloaded to schools outside of the neighborhood.

Please come to the city council meeting. Bring your neighbors and friends. Your presence and opinion about the proposed Patterson Ranch development are very important. Show the city council the community cares about what happens to this proposed development. Not only will the mayor and council members take notice, but also the school board and press.

Date: Tuesday, October 26
Time: 7 p.m.
Place: City Council Chambers
Address: 3300 Capitol Ave., Fremont
